Ashok Amritraj

Founder, Chairman and CEO, Hyde Park Entertainment Group

Ashok Amritraj founded Hyde Park Entertainment in 1999 and is its Chairman and CEO. He grew up in Madras, reached the boys' singles final at Wimbledon in 1974, and came to Los Angeles with tennis. He learned the film business from Roger Corman and went on to partner with every major studio in Hollywood.

He has made more than 100 films, among them Bringing Down the House, Walking Tall, Shopgirl, Premonition, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance and 99 Homes, and was CEO of National Geographic Films. Tennis never left: Sidney Poitier, Steve Martin and Dustin Hoffman have all come to his house to play.

“It took me 10 years to become an overnight success.”
